Hotel Corallo: the closest beaches

The western coast of the island is caracterised by the presence of the Monte Capanne mountain which rolls down into the sea, creating small sand or pebble beaches, some only reachable by sea.

The village of Pomonte lies behind a small, shallow creek with western orientation. The village beach is made of flat and polished stones and rocks and a specially transparent water.

A group of beaches on the left side of Pomonte (Quartiere, Ogliera) that can be reached taking the small wooden bridge. The beach of 'Quartiere' beach is partly free, partly occupied by a beach bath renting out deckchairs and umbrellas. All the other beaches are completely free and if you need can we give all the beach equipment. Those who love isolated beaches in full season can book with us a boat that accompanies you to the beach and comes to take you back to the hotel. We also have a special agreement with the beach bath in Fetovaia. Pomonte is famous because just a few meters from the shore, 16 meters deep, lies the ship wrack of the Elviscott, sunken in the seventies. Therefore the beach is much frequented by the divers.


Here under a list of some beaches of the western coast that can be reached from Pomonte in a few minutes either by car or by boat.

Chiessi
At 2 km from Pomonte, the village is very beautifully situated and the waters of the sea of an unbelievable transparency. The beach is divided in two types, a central part with small pebbles and on both sides flat, smooth stones and cliffs.

Punta Nera
Small, but very beautiful little creek. Can be seen from the main road but can only be reached by boat. A small peaceful paradise, frequented by boat owners.


Campo Lo Feno
Series of very sunny beaches, sometimes communicating with each other, with long parts of small, round pebbles, washed by the waves. Ideal for those who have a boat and are looking for some privacy and can live with some comfort in less.

Il Giardino
Two beaches, particular for the colors and scenery. They are quiet hot, because the dark pebbles are absorbing the warmth of the sun. At the same time there is always a light breeze cooling down a little bit the area. You can reach the beach after 200 meters through the mediterranean macchia, following the indications "Il Giardino", after having left your car on the parking on the main road.

Le Tombe
100 meters of an enchanting little beach, ideal for those loving a quiet place. Can be reached over a 200 meters long trail departing from the top of the "Punta le Tombe".


Fetovaia
One of the most famous beaches of the whole island. Known for its golden sand and the headland in front that reaches in the open sea. Transparent waters but a lot of people during the season.

Le Piscine
Ideal for those who want to sunbath. The particular disposition of the granit cliffs has formed some natural "pools", filled by the waves of the sea. Situated between Seccheto and Fetovaia, the place can easily be reached over a 20 meters long path from the main road.


Seccheto
Small sandy beach with flat cliffs on either side, forming platforms and little natural pools. Ideal for kids.

Cavoli
Cavoli is probably the most known place of the island for its fine white sandy beach, the transparency of the water and the young people going to this beach.
